I’m going to avoid the obvious crass jokes here and get right to the review. You’re welcome 🙂 Linkaball is a fun little game where your goal is to turn the various balls white. You may need to only convert a certain percentage or you might have to convert them all. Keep in mind that balls of different colors don’t play nice together and you’ll lose your chain if they touch.

Linkaball is mostly controlled by the mouse. You start the level by dropping the white ball where it will do the most good. Keep in mind that you don’t have a time limit so you might as well take advantage of this and wait for two or more balls of the same color to be nearby. You can link up more white balls or balls of the same color to create longer chains and get more points. There are powerups you can gather as you play the game and these can be activated by pressing keys 1-6. If the game is running too slowly you can press the spacebar to enable turbo mode. Also if one of your white balls is traveling in a direction that you don’t want it to you can click the mouse near it to change directions. This removes points from your overall score so use it sparingly.

There’s not much to look at in this game, just spheres and more spheres. There’s no real animation to speak of but that’s mostly due to the simplicity of the graphics. Once again, you won’t find your computer overly-taxed when playing this game.

There’s plenty of audio to go with Linkaball but quite frankly the music is repetitive. The sound effects are simplistic but I’m happy to say that the author included a mute option as well as loudness options for both the music and the sound controls. That inclusion gets a tip of the hat from me.

6/10. Perhaps a bit overly-simple?

8/10. Worth playing through more than once. Definite fun factor.

7/10. Audio isn’t great but bonus points for the mute options.

7/10. I’ve seen games like this before but Linkaball has more features.

8/10. Solid controls. Turbo option is nice.

Play ball! 7/10
